LOADING SCHEMATICS...

The F-20 “Saikai” is a Mach 4+ hypersonic air-dominance and strike aircraft featuring a blended fuselage-delta wing configuration approximately 30–35 m in length.

Structural & Material Engineering

Constructed with a titanium and high-entropy alloy structural frame, wrapped in a ceramic matrix composite (CMC) outer skin. Critical high-heat sections utilize carbon–carbon composites, while leading edges are forged from ultra-high-temperature ceramic (UHTC). The chassis incorporates an expansion-tolerant panel design engineered for extreme thermal cycling, monitored in real-time by distributed thermal and structural health sensors.

TBCC Propulsion & Thermal Management

Powered by a turbine-based combined cycle (TBCC) propulsion system integrating turbofan, ramjet, and scramjet modes. Features a variable-geometry intake and thrust-vectoring exhaust nozzle. To mitigate hypersonic friction, high-flashpoint fuel doubles as an active cooling medium, circulating heavily through the leading edges and engine ducts. Designed for sustained operation at speeds exceeding Mach 4 and altitudes up to ~45 km within near-future engineering feasibility.

Avionics & Survivability

Equipped with quad-redundant AI-assisted fly-by-wire controls alongside inertial and hardened satellite navigation. The UHTC nose houses state-of-the-art AESA radar and infrared search-and-track (IRST) sensors. The electrical grid relies on a dual generator system outfitted with high-temperature wiring and an emergency backup power supply.

PILOT RETENTION: Features a fully enclosed detachable pilot escape capsule with independent life support, deep thermal shielding, and localized parachute recovery.

Armament

Stealth-profile internal weapons bay, sealed with heat-resistant doors, capable of carrying 2–4 hypersonic-compatible munitions for zero-warning strike capabilities.
